"Sleepy" Dick Dykeman started his first business adventure in the automotive industry. His next adventure was the RV business, as we know now as Hastings Motor Sales Inc.- Dykeman's Camper Place located at Burlington & Hwy 6.

It all started in and around a small trailer house and a vacated car wash. Twentieth Century Motor Sales started small and steadily grew into what is now Hastings Motor Sales, Inc. - Dykeman's Camper Place. Hastings Motor Sales was the nations first Excel dealer. Sales started with toppers and pickup campers.

The RV business started growing and orders of travel trailers and motor homes were regularly delivered to a steady traffic of customers. People would stop just to check what was new or simply to say hello and would always leave with a smile.

Dick Dykeman is the originator behind Dykeman's Camper Place story. What started as a small operation is now one of the largest Camper dealerships in the Central Nebraska area.

A 47,350 sq ft covered display area was built in 2003 to provide a comfortable place for customers to shop for their next camper and to prevent hail damage on the units. This facility allows us to be one of the best protected dealerships from hail in the Midwest. None of this would be possible without you the customer and we cant thank you enough for your years of loyalty and friendship.
